25 Apr 2008 - CAMBRIDGE RED HAT DAY
Some of our girls attended the Cambridge Red Hat Day which was a tour of Cambridge, and Lunch at one of the Colleges (arranged by Queen Ann).
The Tour bus collected us at Cambridge Train Station, along with about twelve ladies from London. Several of our ladies were already on the tour bus. When the tour bus arrived it was full of Red Hatters from all over the East of England. As the bus pulled up everybody waved and welcomed us on board. We did the tour of Cambridge and visited the American War Memorial just outside Cambridge City. There we stopped for a convenience break. From there we went to Queens College for lunch, we were met by the local press who took photographs. Queens college was fabulous and lunch had been arranged by Queen Ann Cousins, which was a standing buffet. Queen Ann Cousins welcomed us all and then an orderly queue was formed.
The food was very good and after lunch we all went our separate ways to see Cambridge.
