10 Jul 2008 - Ladies Day at Newmarket

Weatherwise, we had the best day for a long time, having taken our waterproofs, wellies and umbrellas with us.

Arriving at Newmarket's July Course Coach Park, we saw lots of Red Hatters enjoying their picnic lunches, having arrived a little before us. We had lunch before entering the Course, and placing our bets for the afternoon. It was a wonderful experience, and we enjoyed people-watching as well as the horses.  Fashions, hats, figures were all seen and criticised.

A photo-call for the "Wisbech Standard" produced far more Red Hatters than we thought were there, and it was wonderful meeting up with old friends and making new ones.
